Local reporters literally have their feet on the ground and historically their stats are accurate and unbiased. For some areas, reporting on daily games can be sporadic especially when it comes to season statistics. When newspapers or media outlets post their end-of- year awards or all-area or all-state teams, the information is added as it meets the criteria.
