WARWICK, R.I. — A Warwick company that customizes athletic gear and imprints logos on uniforms has signed an agreement with USA Football, the national governing body of youth and high school football, to become its official gear store, the company has announced.
SquadLocker is one of several companies created by Gary Goldberg, founder and CEO of CleanBrands. The third generation of his family in the textile business, Goldberg employs 40 at SquadLocker and 20 at CleanBrands.
Goldberg expects the two-year agreement with USA Football to generate several millions of dollars in new revenue, a spokesman told The Providence Journal. Goldberg also expects to add dozens of new employees in Warwick to support this agreement and another recent one with Sports Illustrated Play to operate a digital storefront for that operation.
The USA Football agreement is intended to reduce the hassle for youth football coaches. About 40,000 use the system but the agreement opens it up for more than 100,000, according to the company. SquadLocker helps design uniforms to be ordered online.
